Monte Carlo and Subset Simulations-Based Reliability Analysis of Composite Frames Using OpenSees

Abstract

This study presents an effective method to conduct reliability analysis and to propose the system resistance factors for the system design of frames with concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) columns. The method is mainly based on the integration of OpenSees and Matlab codes for the determination of the load-carrying capacity and reliability indices. Particularly, the Matlab codes are developed using Monte-Carlo and subset simulations to generate samples with random variables and to predict the failure probability of CFST structures.
